Dear Swift Families,
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Spring Break – we have heard many stories of great adventures, both near and far this week!
Don’t forget to keep an eye on the school and district website for many events and important dates happening throughout the year!
Solar Eclipse – April 8
As indicated in the email from Superintendent Sean Nosek safety will be top priority during the solar eclipse next Monday. Our morning recess time is well finished before the eclipse, so students will be outside as usual. Dependent on the weather, our lunch recess will be moved indoors if necessary. Please know that, as always, the safety of our school community is our priority.
Volunteering & Upcoming Field Trips
With many field trips on the horizon, there will be plenty of volunteer opportunities. Just a reminder that all volunteers need a completed Criminal Record Check – this is done through the School Board Office, and an Annual Volunteer Form which can be completed at the office.

Please keep an eye on your SchoolCash account for field trip permission forms and payment – there are many trips on the horizon.
PAC News – Art Card Orders Due April 12 & Hot Chocolate Day on April 18!
The annual Art Card Fundraiser is underway. All ordering information was sent in an email and is on the back of the ORIGINAL art that went home on Tuesday. If you are ordering please be sure to read and follow the instructions and send back the ORIGINAL art!

We hope you can join us for our next PAC meeting – Thursday April 11 @ 7:00pm in the Library.
The next Hot Chocolate in the Garden will be on Thursday April 18th, at 2:30. This will be the Spring Fling for hot chocolate before the switch to cold summer treats!
Strong Start – Nature Thursdays are Back!
Nature Thursdays return starting April 11. Meet at the Bateman Park Playground at 8:50, the Nature Walk will start at 9:00. Strong Start continues as usual the rest of the week.
Clayburn Information for Grade 5 Students
Registration information for Clayburn Middle School should have arrived home in backpacks this week. ALL grade 5s are asked to complete the first page of the package – those not going to Clayburn don’t need to do more than that. Those who ARE going to Clayburn must complete the rest of the package. Please return it to Ms. Froese or Ms. Virtue/Mrs. M as soon as possible. If your child is interested in Band, registration forms will be sent home shortly.
Kindergarten and New Student (Gr. 1-5) Registration Is Ongoing
Registration for those starting Kindergarten or who will be new to Swift in grades 1-5 in September is open. There are a variety of ways to register, please see our website for information.
Please spread the word around the community - the sooner families register, the better. It is very helpful having accurate numbers when we begin planning for next year.
Abby Schools Community Portal
The Abby Schools Community bulletin was sent to all families over the break. On the Community Webpage there are different opportunities for families – such as sports activities, camps, and other extra curricular activities. The District will send out a bulletin 4 times a year, but families are welcome to access the information and check out opportunities at any time.
