Ms. Kenney's February 23 Newsletter

February 26, 2024

Dear Swift Families,

Thank you for your continued support as we finish off February and head into March. It is hard to believe that term 2 is quickly coming to an end. Learning Updates (Report Cards) will be coming home on March 14th

Don’t forget to keep an eye on the school and district website for many other events happening throughout the year!

PAC News

Orders & payment for the next Hot Lunch (Boston Pizza) are due on February 28th at the end of the day. All Hot Lunch information and PAC information can be found on our school website.

Kindergarten and New Student (Gr. 1-5) Is Ongoing

Registration for those starting Kindergarten or who will be new to Swift in grades 1-5 in September is open. There are a variety of ways to register, please see our website for information.

Please spread the word around the community - the sooner families register, the better. It is very helpful having accurate numbers when we begin planning for next year.

Check Your SchoolCash Account

With many field trips coming up, please keep an eye on your account. Any outstanding fees or permission forms will be visible on your account. Thanks for helping us keep our accounting up to date.

Rainy Days and Parking 101

With the rainy weather, the drop off and pick up lane has been extra busy. Please remember that there is NO parking in this lane. Also, drop off and pick up cannot happen in the fire lane, or where the day care bus parks. Please be patient with each other and follow the Swift’s Parking 101 rules and city bylaws for parking in the neighbourhood.

Please make sure that there are ‘extras’ in backpacks – pants and socks are often victims of puddles and other wet tumbles. We simply do not have enough extras to meet the needs at school. An extra set or 2 in the backpack make for some much happier days!

Dogs at School – A Reminder

In recent weeks we have noticed more dogs on the school ground at drop off and pick-up. Please be reminded that dogs – regardless of size are NOT permitted on school grounds. If you want to add a dog walk to your pick up and drop off routine, please say good-bye or hello off of the school grounds. Thank you for your cooperation.

Important Dates for the next 2 weeks – see calendar – for updates:
