New Plantings in the Little Forest

We are so excited that Spring is on it's way! Today the Nature Kindergarten Classes planted Willow sticks into the ground which will grow into bushes. Did you know that you can cut a willow stick and just stick it into the ground where it is damp and it will take root and grow?? We are looking forward to our baby willow plants growing big and strong and able to provide shade and shelter for the birds and creatures in our little forest.

March is Leprechaun Month!

Mrs. Baerg's Class has been busy planning their Leprechaun Traps for March! This is the month that the Leprechauns start to come out to play and look for pots of gold under the rainbows. We are hoping to trap one to get him/her to tell us their secrets!

February Star Students

A big Congratulations to our Star Students for February! These students have their picture on our Star Student Wall during the month of March and will have their Star Student Celebration in the beginning of April.

Early Dismissal Days

Report Cards will be going home on March 5th. Please be sure to take a look at your child's report and praise their success. 

On March 10 and March 11th, students will be dismissed from classes ONE HOUR early. This is to allow for teachers to connect with the parents or parents to connect with teachers if they have questions about report cards. If you wish to meet with your child's teacher, please contact them directly via email or a planner note. They will arrange to meet with you either on a video chat, a phone call or it may just require an email connection.

Reading Link Challenge

Swift Reading Link Team Challenge

Thirty-one grade 4/5 students participated in the is year’s Reading Links challenge school competition on Feb. 26, 2021. 

The 6 teams took part in a game show competition answering 30 questions about 6 different books read as part of the competition. 

The Winning Team was successful in winning the competition and will go on to compete virtually against other schools on March 10.

StrongStart News

The Dr. Thomas A Swift StrongStart program is a fun and vibrant time for parents and tots to get to know each other, play some games, listen to some songs, play with toys and learn a few things. With new Covid-19 protocols, visitors are asked to register a day prior to coming to StrongStart with Eventbright (Click here for link to info) and all adults are asked to wear a mask. Although there is a 12 person limit, Ms. Lise provides a fun time for all who come.

Enhanced safety measures for K-12 schools

Enhanced safety measures and $121.2 million in federal funding are on the way, as the Province continues to strengthen health and safety plans in K-12 schools to keep students, teachers and staff safe during the pandemic.
