Ms. Kenney's April 10 Newsletter
Dear Swift Families,
With beautiful spring weather retuning we are thrilled to see more kids biking, scooting and walking to school. A gentle reminder that all kids must have a helmet if they are biking or scooting. A lock for bikes is a good idea too!
Registration for 2026-2027 is open – K-5!
Registration is open for the 2026-2027 school year. There is a lot of information and different ways to register, please see our website, for all this information. Please spread the word around the community - the sooner families register, the better. It is very helpful having accurate numbers when we begin planning for next year.
Nature Strong Start is Back!
Beginning April 2, Strong Start will be back outside on Thursday mornings. Please meet at Bateman Park and enjoy the Stony Creek trails together! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday will continue to be in Room 116.
Summer School – Registration closes April 20th
Information about summer school is available now, and registration is open until April 20th. Summer school targets students who need an extra boost in either literacy or numeracy. It will be held this year at Godson Elementary and Clearbrook Elementary. More information is on the Summer School website or attached here.
Summer Child Care at Godson Elementary
There is a opportunity for child care at Godson Elementary this summer, Information is available here or on the website Seamless Day Childcare | Abby Early Years
Field Trips Coming!
There are many field trips coming up – please keep an eye on SchoolCash Account to pay and give permission for the trip. If you need any financial assistance, please contact Ms. Kenney at the office. We are happy to help where it’s needed.
Parking 101
Recently there have been many people choosing not to follow City By-Laws when dropping off and picking up – this has been particularly problematic in the Mireau cul-de-sac. Please be reminded that double parking and blocking driveways is in contravention of parking rules. The City of Abbotsford Bylaw department has been made aware of these concerns. Please follow all posted parking signs and follow By-law regulations.
Lost and Found
The current lost and found is listed on the website. Please (pretty please!) label your child’s belongings. We have many beautiful items in the lost and found with no way to return them!
