Ms. Kenney's May 22 Newsletter
Dear Swift Families,
There are so many beautiful things in our lost and found looking for their home! Mrs. Dahl updated the Lost and Found items over Spring Break – please take a peek! Please also come and check the Blue Bin located next to the office – ALL Lost and Found will be donated at the end of the year. Thanks to those families who came and checked things out this week!
Many field trips are coming up before the end of the year – please keep an eye on your SchoolCash account for payment and permission. If you need any financial assistance, please let Ms. Kenney know directly and we will make arrangements together to cover the cost.
District Communication Survey
We’re inviting families to take part in a short Parent Engagement Survey to share their experiences with school and district communications. Your input will help us better understand what’s working well and where there may be opportunities to strengthen connection and support. Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts with us. The survey is open until May 31st.

School District Orange Shirts – September 2026
The annual Orange Shirt, designed by district students, is currently available for ordering online. This years design was created by 3 students – they describe their design in this way: “The butterfly wings in our design represent freedom, beauty, and change. The sun symbolizes life‑giving energy, power, and unity. The dandelions reflect resilience, hope, transformation, and the power of making wishes.” Shirts can be ordered now for September delivery to school. Grade 5s, should list their middle school so their shirt is delivered to them! Ordering is available here
Class Requests 2026-2027 & Moving
If you are interested in placing a class request for the 2026 -2027 school year, please see information on the website, the form is now open and will remain open until May 23rd at 7:00pm. Please know that making class lists is a complex process, and while we will take your request into consideration, we cannot guarantee that all requests can or will be met.
If you have moved, are moving, or are not planning on returning to Swift next year, please let us know. This helps a great deal with our planning as we move forward.
Parking 101
Please remember and remind family members who do pick up and drop off that when using the “Drop Off Lane” you may not park and get out of your car. Please help the traffic keep flowing. And, while things have been better in recent weeks, we continue to hear from our neighbours that members of our school community are blocking driveways, double parking, and most recently moving garbage cans to create more parking spaces. Please show our best selves, to the rest of the community. Bikes, Scooters, Helmets and Fence Jumping
The sun is shining, and bikes and scooters are back! We are asking you, as parents/guardians, to help us out. We love seeing kids actively arriving to school – please remind your kids that once they are on school property, we ask that they walk their bikes and scooters. Also, please be sure to send them with their helmets!
We have had several concerns brought forward recently of kids jumping the fences around the playground before and after school. They all know that those areas are out of bounds. Please help us keep the hills from eroding by not letting them jump the fences when playing before and after school.
Dogs at School – A Reminder
As the warmer weather comes, a dog walk to and from school might seem like a great idea. Please be reminded that dogs – regardless of size are NOT permitted on school grounds. If you want to add a dog walk to your pickup and drop off routine, please say good-bye or hello off the school grounds. Thank you for your cooperation.
