Cuddle Up and Read
Mrs. Thurmer is looking for parents (or grandparents!) who would like to “cuddle up and read” with students. This is an opportunity to support some of our kids who need a little boost in reading or just some extra time supporting their reading development. If you are interested in helping, and have a completed Criminal Record Check, please email Mrs. Thurmer at gwen.thurmer@abbyschools.ca
We are so thankful to those who have already signed up, it is wonderful seeing them reading with a caring adult! Thank you!
Lost and Found – So many lost things!
Our lost and found is filled with many wonderful items looking for their home! Please head over to the website and check out what is there. If something looks familiar, please follow the instructions on the website. This list was created 2 weeks ago. Anything that hasn’t found its way home since then might be in the blue lost and found bin.
PAC Information –Stocking Stuffer Fundraiser & Halloween Candy
The PAC is running a “stuff your stocking” fundraiser! Get a jump on your Christmas shopping with Island Jerky, Purdy’s chocolate, Global Coffee, FundScrip gift cards, TruEarth - and support our PAC at the same time! Hard copies were sent home last week – digital copies of the ordering forms are on the website and attached here. Orders are due on November 20th, online ordering will shut down at 11:59pm, with pick-up on December 8th.
The PAC would love any “extra” nut-free Halloween Candy you might have! This will be used as prizes for Christmas Fun Day and as decorations for gingerbread cookies. Feel free to drop anything by the office and the PAC will store it until needed! Thank you to those families who have already brought in their extras!

School Photos – Pre-Christmas Deadline November 15!
School Photos are ready to view! To view the proofs please click here and enter your email and password. Your password is your child’s pupil ID number. Orders placed before November 15th will arrive before Christmas! As they are edited and printed they are delivered to school in batches to be sent home.

Strong Start – Schedule Changes Coming
Nature Thursdays will continue until November 30th. For the rainy winter months Thursdays will move inside returning to Bateman Park in April.

November 13 – No School – Remembrance Day in Lieu
November 14 – School Celebration of Diwali – students can come in traditional dress or bright colours
November 17 – Hot Lunch – Subway
November 24 – Spirit Day – Hat Day!
