Ms. Kenney's Oct 9 Newsletter

October 14, 2026

Dear Swift Families,

Wishing all our families a wonderful Thanksgiving – we hope you enjoy the long weekend and fill it with family memories.

Supervision Reminders

A gentle reminder that supervision before school begins at 8:15. Please do not drop off or send your kids to school with an arrival before that time! Supervision after school ends at 2:40.

Demographic & Reunification Forms

We are so close to having all forms returned – thank you!! If you haven’t yet returned your Student Demographic (Pink Form) and Reunification (Purple Form) forms, please do so as soon as possible!

Parent Teacher Interviews & Early Dismissal

October 21st and 22nd are Parent Teacher Interviews. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and share with them important information they might not yet know about your child. On interview days students will be dismissed at 11:45.

Interviews can be booked online, starting on Monday morning until the end of the day Tuesday October 20th. Interview times are:

Wednesday, October 21 - 12:45 pm - 2:30 pm (end of last appointment) and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (end of last appointment).
Thursday, October 22 - 12:45 pm - 2:30 pm (end of last appointment).

Scholastic Book Fair – October 20-22

We are excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair back this year! It will be open before and after school, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and during Parent Teacher Interviews. The Book Fair will be open:
October 20 – 8:00 – 8:30, 2:30 – 3:00
October 21 – 8:00 – 8:30, 11:45 – 12:15, 12:45 – 2:30, 4:00 – 7:00
October 22 – 8:00 – 8:30, 11:45 – 12:15, 12:45 – 2:30

All our teachers love getting new books! If you would like to buy a book or two for their classes, you can purchase a book, add a label, and we will be sure to pass along your classroom gift!

Payment can be made with Debit or Credit cards. Cash and Cheques will not be accepted.

School Photos – Proofs Available Now!

Your school photo proofs are now ready to be seen and ordered. You can go to this link to see the photos. All the needed information was sent home on a red card earlier this week. Any photos ordered before November 15th will arrive in time for Winter Break. If you are interested in retakes, they are scheduled for October 16th.  Any questions related to ordering photos can be sent to [email protected]

School Cash Account

Please be sure to set up your School Cash account. Each child needs to be added to your account. All school-based payments are made here, and all permission forms will be completed here as well. If you haven’t yet set up your account or need a refresher, information is on the website.

Planners for Grade 1-5 are on School Cask currently and field trips are also being added – please check your School Cash Account!

Parking 101

School parking lots are never pleasant at pick up and drop off – ever. That said, working together and a little bit of patience goes a long way. When using the Pick-Up and Drop-Off Lane you must remain in your vehicle and your children need to meet you there. If you need to pick them up at their classes, please park on the surrounding street. Please follow all posted parking signs and follow By-law regulations.

Parents & Community Information

There is a section on the Abbotsford School District Website sharing many resources for families that are available in the broader community. Please see the Parents & Community website for more information.
