Ms. Kenney's October 23 Newsletter

October 26, 2026

Dear Swift Families,

Thank you for coming in for Parent Teacher Interviews – we appreciate the time you take to share information about your children with us!

Supervision Reminders

A gentle reminder that supervision before school begins at 8:15. Please do not drop off or send your kids to school with an arrival before that time! Supervision after school ends at 2:40.

Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner! We would like to send a couple of reminders. Students are welcome to wear their costumes or orange and black to school on October 30th – please do not send weapons, masks or any pieces that might get lost. Also, please be sure that costumes are school appropriate – and not bloody or gory, with little ones in the building some costumes are simply too scary.

While the days following Halloween are exciting, and treats are enticing, we ask that the number of treats be kept to a minimum in school lunches.

Rainy Days and Extra Clothes

Fall days are here which means the weather is going to inevitably be wet. Please send your kids to school ready to be outside for recess and lunch – we go out in all weather conditions unless it is incredibly stormy! It is always a good idea to have an extra pair of socks and pants in backpacks – wet feet and wet pants aren’t a lot of fun. While we have some extras at school, we save them for those unexpected bathroom accidents, not puddle fun!

School Photos – Proofs Available Now!

Your school photo proofs are now ready to be seen and ordered. You can go to this link to see the photos. All the needed information was sent home on a red card earlier this week. Any photos ordered before November 15th will arrive in time for Winter Break. Any questions related to ordering photos can be sent to [email protected]

News from the PAC

Thank you to everyone who came out to the neon dance party on October 16th. The kids all had an absolute blast, and we were so happy to organize this event.

Coming up on November 25th we are hosting a holiday doormat making workshop run by Lisa Brands from Tiger Lily Homes. This is not a fundraiser, but more a friend-raiser, and a chance for parents of our community to do a fun activity together. Tickets will be available soon, stay tuned for more information!

We will be selling Castle Fun Park gift cards in the coming weeks! These are a great idea for the upcoming wet and cold weather. Castle Fun Park is not offering any 2 for 1 play cards to the public anymore. School fundraisers are now the only way to obtain cards at a discount. Cards will be sold for $35 each and we'll have a $50 value. The PAC will make $10 from each card sold.

Please join us for the next PAC meeting on Tuesday, November 17th at 7:00 p.m. If you would like to help organize Christmas Fun Day come early at 6:00 p.m. to hear all about it. Christmas Fun Day and the Vendor Night Market will be held on Friday, December 4th. We will definitely need volunteers (aka elves!) to help pull off the magic.

As always, keep an eye on the website for updates and news!
