Ms. Kenney's September 27 Newsletter
Dear Swift Families,
It’s hard to believe that October is already here! Fall days are coming which means a change of weather. Please send your kids to school ready to be outside for recess and lunch – we go out in all weather conditions unless it is incredibly stormy! It is always a good idea to have an extra pair of socks and pants in backpacks – wet feet and wet pants aren’t a lot of fun. While we have some extras at school, we save them for those unexpected bathroom accidents, not puddle fun!
School Photos – October 1
Paramount Portraits will be here on October 1st to take this year’s school photos. Each student will have 3 poses taken and their class picture. When proofs are ready information will be sent home with online viewing and ordering information.
Terry Fox Run – October 4
We will be collecting “loonies and toonies for Terry” starting on October 1st leading up to our school Terry Fox run. We can still use more volunteer marshals. If you are able to help, haven’t returned the form and have a clear criminal record check please email swift@abbyschools.ca and we will add you to the list.
We are looking forward to a great event. All students should wear their red Swift t-shirt on Friday October 4th.
School Cash Account, Field Trips and Volunteering
Please be sure to set up your School Cash account. Each child needs to be added to your account. All school-based payments are made here, and all permission forms will be completed here as well. If you haven’t yet set up your account or need a refresher, information is on the website.
There are already field trips coming up! Please check your school cash account to pay and give permission. If there are any financial concerns, please connect with Ms. Kenney, and we are happy to help cover the cost of field trips where needed.
Supervision Reminders
A gentle reminder that supervision before school begins at 8:15. Please do not drop off or send your kids to school with an arrival before that time! Supervision after school ends at 2:40.
Dogs on School Property. This week we noticed a number of dogs at pick up and drop off. Please be reminded that dogs are NOT allowed on school property. If you want to add a dog walk to your morning or afternoon routine, please choose a place off of the school’s property to meet your child. This rule is in place for the safety and well being of our whole community.
