Swift News - September 19
Thank you for a great start-up, it was wonderful to see everyone settled into their classes for the year. I suspect there were many tired kids this weekend – it seems like it always takes a few weeks to get back into “alarm clock” mode.
As we did last year, a brief newsletter will typically be sent out every other week – this year they will come on Thursday and will be posted to the website on Friday. I will do my best to have it out by 5:00 – but if it arrives a little later, you will just know that it was a busy day! This week however, it comes to you on Monday!
Supervision Reminders
A gentle reminder that supervision before school begins at 8:15 ending with the 8:25 bell, and supervision after school ends at 2:40. We ask that students at school before or after supervision times are with parents or other trusted adults.
Demographic Forms
Student Demographic forms were sent home to grades 1-5 last week – thank you to all the families who have already returned them! If you haven’t please do so as soon as possible! Kindergarten forms will be sent home shortly
Meet the Teacher Night – This Wednesday!
We are excited to be able to welcome families back into the school this year. For some families, this might be the first time they can freely roam the hallways! Meet the Teacher Night is an opportunity to connect in an informal way with many of the teachers your children will see throughout the year. We invite you to join us from 6:00 – 7:00 for an open house style Meet the Teacher. Students are asked to see Ms. Kenney when they arrive to pick up their “BINGO” sheet – these are simply to guide your time at the school. All sheets that are completed and returned at the end will get a treat!
Please remember this evening is not Parent Teacher Interviews – those will happen in October. As always, you are welcome to reach out to teachers with any questions you might have.
PAC News
Our PAC executive has been hard at work getting ready for the school year. PAC information is readily available on the website https://swift.abbyschools.ca/parents-students/pac We look forward to welcoming you to our first meeting next week!
Hot Lunch ordering opens tomorrow for the first 3 hot lunches. Ordering information is on the website at https://swift.abbyschools.ca/node/3449 All orders are done online through https://thomasswift.hotlunches.net/. New and returning parents must all create a new account using the access code: TAS Please note the first orders & payment are due October 5 for our Domino’s Hot Lunch on October 14. You are able to order and pay for lunches one at a time, or in batches.
PAC will be set up on Wednesday at Meet the Teacher – they will have coupon books, and some Swift wear for sale. Please be sure to stop by and say hello.
