On April 18, 2024, at the Semá:th First Nation Longhouse, an Honouring Ceremony took place for the 2024 Indigenous Role Models. Organized by the Mamele’awt Community Indigenous Education Centre, the event brought together Indigenous and school district leaders, community members, students and many supporters of the Role Models keen to celebrate their accomplishments.

The guide to Mental health and substance use impacts on youth is brought to you by Fraser Health.

Youth is a time of growing, learning and changing. It can also be a time when behaviours may become more risky and youth may experiment with substance use. While not all youth will choose to use substances, many do experiment and some experience harms from their own or other’s substance use.

The Abbotsford Board of Education regularly meets throughout the school year. Agendas and minutes from the public Board Meetings can be accessed through the District's Electronic School Board. Below is a summary of highlights from the meeting.

At the March 12, 2024, board meeting, the Abbotsford Board of Education passed a motion to approve and formalize the school calendars for the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 school years. The Abbotsford Board of Education is required to create a calendar that meets the legislated requirements of the School Act, and the Abbotsford Teachers Union (ATU) Collective Agreement. These calendars establish the start and end dates of the school year, as well as key holiday breaks and non-instructional days.
