The Abbotsford Board of Education is currently seeking feedback from parents/guardians, families, employees, students and the larger community on the proposed calendar for the 2023-24 school year.

The Abbotsford Board of Education regularly meets throughout the school year. Agendas and minutes from the public Board Meetings can be accessed through the District's Electronic School Board. Below is a summary of highlights from the meeting.

Registration for 2023-24 – ON NOW!

Registration is now open for K-Gr. 5. There are a variety of ways to access all the information and to register, please see our website for information to register.

This past December, the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee reviewed applications submitted by several grade 12 Indigenous students from secondary schools throughout the Abbotsford School District.

Congratulations to our January Star Students! They will have their celebration day in March. Our December Star Students will have their celebration day next week.

Today, Abbotsford School District's Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Godden, announced his intent to retire at the end of the 2022/23 school year to all staff in the district via email. He had discussed this decision with the Abbotsford Board of Education earlier in the school year.

Schools across the Abbotsford School District recognized the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year as part of the lunisolar calendar. Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other East and Southeast Asian communities in Canada and worldwide were celebrating the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Rabbit (or Cat in Vietnamese culture) which was officially recognized on January 22nd, 2023.

It is very important for young children to have their hearing and vision tested. So many learning issues can be solved if children can see and hear! Both tests are free (covered under MSP) for children. If you haven't had your child's vision or hearing tested, make an appointment soon!
