Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women

On the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, flags at all Abbotsford schools and district sites are lowered at half-mast.

On this day, over 30 years ago, an act of violence shook our country and led Parliament to designate December 6 as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. As we mourn the ones we lost and remember their lives, we reaffirm our commitment to creating workplaces and schools free from gender-based violence.

A message from Ms. Kenney

Dear Swift Families,

As term 1 comes to a close, please take time to celebrate your child’s successes – there are many! This is also a great time to set goals for Term 2 – these don’t need to be big elaborate goals, sometimes the smallest ones produce the best change and outcomes.

Swift News - November 10

Dear Swift Families,

We gathered yesterday as a school community to recognize Remembrance Day. Our students did a beautiful job of honouring those who fought for our freedom. We were so thankful to have family and friends join us again! I encourage all families to go to a local ceremony tomorrow, watch the National Remembrance Day ceremony on television, or at the very least observe a moment of silence at 11:00.
