Swift News - September 29

Dear Swift Families,

Where did September go?

It’s hard to believe that a month of school is already behind us. Learning is humming along, and routines are nicely established. October brings us a chance to meet with all parents at Parent Teacher Interviews later in the month – information will be sent home shortly about the process for booking interviews.

We would like to take this (early) chance to wish everyone a safe and healthy Thanksgiving next weekend. Enjoy this time with family and friends.

Swift News - September 19

Thank you for a great start-up, it was wonderful to see everyone settled into their classes for the year. I suspect there were many tired kids this weekend – it seems like it always takes a few weeks to get back into “alarm clock” mode.

As we did last year, a brief newsletter will typically be sent out every other week – this year they will come on Thursday and will be posted to the website on Friday. I will do my best to have it out by 5:00 – but if it arrives a little later, you will just know that it was a busy day! This week however, it comes to you on Monday!

Swift News - September 10

Dear Swift Families,

Week 1 is in the books!

It was so great seeing everyone back, healthy, safe and hearing of many summer adventures! The Swift community has amazed me with the care everyone shows to each other. We have had a great time welcoming new many community members, and they have been swooped up with friends and taken off! We are all excited for a new school year!

Abbotsford Receives $1.9M From Province for One-Time Funding

(Abbotsford) — The provincial government is providing $60 million in one-time funding to school districts across the province to support families with back-to-school costs. Earlier this week, the B.C. government announced they are using funding from the Student and Family Affordability Fund toward back-to-school costs to assist families struggling with the rising cost of living due to inflation.
