As the weather gets colder and we spend more time indoors, we’re more likely to get sick with things like colds, flu or COVID-19 because these illnesses spread more easily in enclosed spaces.

We know you are all waiting for class lists, thank you for your patience as we worked through changes in enrollment this week. Lists for Grades 1-5 will be posted today by 6:00. Kindergarten lists will be finalized by the end of next week.

We are pleased to introduce you to our new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nathan Ngieng. Please enjoy his welcome back message below.

The start of a new school year always brings a sense of energy and possibility. On September 2nd, more than 20,000 students will walk through the doors of our 46 schools, supported by 3,000 staff who are ready to guide, inspire, and celebrate their growth this year. The Abbotsford Board of Education is excited to see what this year will bring for our students-new learning, new friendships, and new opportunities to thrive. 

Ms. Kenney has included the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge in Gr K - 4 Learning Outcome Envelopes. If you lose it or can't find it, you can print if off here. Visit the Public Library and have a fantastic summer reading!

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Nuij as Assistant Superintendent, effective June 16, 2025.

With more than two decades of experience in public education, Pete brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role. He has served as a teacher, school-based administrator, District Principal, Director of Instruction, and most recently, Associate Superintendent of Education Services with the Vancouver School Board.
