How is it almost December! Thank you for your continued support as we round out first term and begin second term – Learning Updates (the new name for Report Cards) will be coming home on December 8^th.

Across the Abbotsford School District, vibrant celebrations were underway last week to embrace the spirit of Diwali, a significant festival in South Asian cultures that symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

This year, students and staff took the opportunity to learn more about the cultural importance of this festival and celebrate the diversity of our schools.

Following the Annual Organization Meeting on November 7, the Abbotsford Board of Education has elected its leadership team for the next year. Trustee Korky Neufeld will continue as Board Chair, with Trustee Preet Rai stepping up as the new Vice Chair.

Yale Secondary - Student Voice Inquiry

Students from Yale Secondary speak to trustees about their Student Voice inquiry journey over the last few years and their ideas for this school year.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Prime Minister's Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates exceptional educators across Canada. Since 1994, these awards have acknowledged over 1,800 outstanding educators who have gone above and beyond to create safe spaces for their students, continue to work hard to make learning fun and inspire the next generation to be bold innovators and creators.

Congratulations to our October Star Students! Their pictures are up on the board today and will stay there until the end of November. The October Star Students will have their celebration in December.
