Dear Swift Families,

Break the Rules Day for Canuck Place! – November 21^st

Division 2 is excited to host “Break the Rules Day” on November 21^st in support of Canuck Place. Students are invited to: Wear a Hat in class, Wear Pjs to school, Bring a stuffy, Change their name for the day, Bring a special lunch treat. To “break” these rules, we are asking for a $1 donation per rule broken. All donations will be given to Canuck Place. Thank you, from Division 2!

The Abbotsford Board of Education has elected Stan Petersen as Board Chair for the remainder of the 2025–26 term. Trustee Petersen, a long-time advocate for public education, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success across the district.

Trustee Petersen succeeds Shirley Wilson, who has served as Chair since February 2024. The election took place during the Board’s annual organizational meeting on November 4, 2025.

Make dental, hearing and vision checks part of a healthy routine

It’s important for your child to have regular eye exams and routine dental checkups. This can help find issues early and lead to better outcomes. It is also important to recognize any hearing loss early as this is essential for speech and language development.

Rainy Days and Extra Clothes

Congratulations to our October Star Students! These students have their certificates on the Star Student wall for the month of November. The September Star Students will be having their celebration on Tuesday, November 4.

No one wants to take the ‘treat’ out of trick-or-treating, but Halloween treats can increase the risk of cavities. This year, Fraser Health is encouraging families to plan ahead to help scare away tooth decay.

The Abbotsford Board of Education is pleased to welcome Arsh Kaler as its newest member, following his official swearing-in at the public Board meeting held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

“We are delighted to welcome Trustee Kaler to the Board,” said Board Chair Shirley Wilson. “His enthusiasm, community-minded approach, and deep commitment to public education will be tremendous assets as we work together to support students, staff, and families across our district.”

Responsible and Safe Driving in the Parking Lot

Halloween is just around the corner, and our schools are buzzing with excitement as students prepare to show off their creativity and enjoy some festive fun together. As we get ready to celebrate, it’s important that our events and costume choices reflect the values we share as a community: kindness, inclusion, and respect.

Thank you for your generous support of our Terry Fox Run this year! We had the perfect weather today for a great event. As a school community we raised well over $1000 to support the Terry Fox Foundation!

Supervision Reminders

A gentle reminder that supervision before school begins at 8:15. Please do not drop off or send your kids to school with an arrival before that time! Supervision after school ends at 2:40.

Parking 101
